Oasi Torbiere di Albate-Bassone
The Oasis Torbiere of Albate-Bassone which is located in the southern part of Como, is a natural reserve of 90 hectares. It consists of three areas: forests, meadows and marshes. There are a hundred species of birds: red woodpeckers, doves, pigeons among the most prevalent. Rarely there are nests for species of passage such as hawks, cranes and sparrows. It is possible to visit this area thanks to a natural route with huts of exploration. This oasis is managed by the WWF which defines "area with a particularly rare ecosystem."
